CatCoBot

Imagine a robotic arm that behaves like a cat. Sitting on the window sill, watching the street, act on the presence and behaviour of passer-bys. This is the CatCoBot. The non-sensical objective of transforming a robotic arm into an acceptable version of a cat does open the space for playful explorations in a diverse field of computer science subjects like companion robots (CoBots), Anthropomorphization, image recognition, gesture and facial expression detection, control physical movement, and add people awareness, force control and emotional dialogues to this prototype.

The CatCoBot has different emotional conditions it can be in, impacting the behaviour and movement of the arm. Currently it can detect and follow faces, recognizes a wide set of hand gestures and show emotional conditions that can be affected by the users interactions.
